She was a rock…during the long labor and when we ended up with a C section, she was in the OR with us, helping keep us calm and centered.

When my husband, Terry, and I first learned we were pregnant, one of the first things we decided on was to have a doula at our birth. Through a mutual friend, we were introduced to Emily and we couldn't have found a better match!

Emily is both incredibly warm while also very grounded so she was such an important part of both encouraging and educating us during this first child of ours.

Emily met us for coffee for an informal Q&A then, after we signed on with her, we had 2 prenatal visits for her to really understand our wishes and just to get to know each other better!

We ended up inducing and Emily was in it with us for the long haul! She ended up staying with us for about 22 hours and while the birth ended up taking some different turns, she was an integral part in delivering our baby girl. She was a rock for Terry and I during the long labor and when we ended up with a C section, she was in the OR with us, helping keep us calm and centered. 

Emily also set up the post partum visit and wrote a wonderful letter to our daughter about her birth story that we will get to share with her in the coming years!

Both Terry and I are so glad Emily came into our life and that she shared our birth with us. Beyond being our doula, we are ecstatic to also call her friend and you can't go wrong having her in your corner for whatever kind of birth you choose!
