Greetings! I look forward to meeting you and your family and providing support and empowerment, one breath at a time, throughout your birthing and parenthood journey.

Meet Emily

I am a DONA certified birth doula and registered yoga instructor committed to helping all people find their best selves through connection to their body, their resilient spirit, and the power of their breath-whether on their yoga mat, breathing during labor, or witnessing the first earthside breath of the newest family member.

As a doula, I believe that the birthing process occurs in various ways unique to each person and am dedicated to supporting birthing people and their family in making informed choices that promote their well-being, both physically and emotionally throughout labor. I have breathed through surges during unmedicated births at local birth centers and have held hands with a waiting father as we head into an OR for a belly birth. Each of these moments-filled with breath and anticipation-cement for me the power of birth to change you.

As a yoga instructor, trained in Vinyasa, Yin, and Prenatal movement, I anchor all of my classes in anatomical and philosophical wisdom. I am fortunate to witness the power of intentional movement in all types of bodies and lead classes that offer choices to care for all who show up.

Originally from Minnesota, my family moved to Littleton in the summer of 2017. I was able to carry my yoga training with me and have taught at large corporate yoga settings, small local studios, for college athletes, at Denver metro businesses and foundations, and now through the power of Zoom.

I was called to become a doula after the unmedicated water birth of my son, Teddy, at a free standing birth center in St. Paul, MN supported by a doula, my husband, and birth center staff. My belief in the power and support that comes from a doula was solidified during the birth of my daughter in a free standing birth center in Denver with various complications that led to hospital transfer for both my daughter and me.

As the former Administrative Director of a free-standing birth center I have ample experience in supporting low intervention birth. I also lead doula trainings to grow this important profession.

Birth has the opportunity to change you-and I have witnessed this power with my own births and those of the birthing people I am fortunate enough to support. Movement has the opportunity to change you-your body and strength is resilient and present. I look forward to journeying with you and breathing with you.

In love and light,
Emily
